Meeting the learning needs of KS3 – a one day conference focuses on middle years learning

A one-day conference in June will share some of the most current research into the adolescent brain and how it affects learning during KS3. Presentations and workshops for teachers and leaders will focus on:

  • How to support the learning needs of the brain throughout KS3 in order to prepare students for their next stage of learning
  • The benefits of a thematic curriculum for KS3 students and how secondary schools can implement this simply and effectively
  • The factors that affect student learning during the KS3 years

The conference: ‘Making Meaning, Connecting Learning, Developing Minds’ is hosted by the International Middle Years Curriculum and Dartmouth Academy - an all through academy. It takes place at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth on 5th June 2013 and is already attracting schools from the UK, Germany and Brazil. The cost is £85 plus VAT per person (£75 for IPC and IMYC member schools) and is relevant for all schools and educators interested in supporting learning for 11-14 year olds.
